“I want this space to look amazing. Any ideas?”
We’ve always got ideas. Fortunately the head teacher who asked this had a broad theme in mind as we were standing in his Early Years space, which, to be honest was a bit bland at the time. Our design team sketched out some ideas and figured out how to link a traditional tale to each one of the four classrooms so that everything felt lovely and cohesive.
The challenge with this design was twofold: how to tell enough of each story through a single image and working around the various bits of furniture so that no details were lost. This required awesome communication between the design and project teams. It also required us eating some of the profit to add extra details to get everything looking as good as it could. We’re delighted with the overall effect and with the little details that finish it off so well.
“The team did not fail to interpret my vision into something that was fresh and eye catching – the design was beautiful, funny and made the boring walls come alive. It was so lovely to see the children’s faces when they returned to school… the environment came to life, with happy, smiling children, and it engaged them in conversations about the characters and the stories. I am so happy with the quality of work of Media Collective and I am already thinking about the next project across the school.”
