Stuart Bathurst School gets landmark status.

What do you do when nobody can find your school? This was one of the challenges facing the new headteacher at one school in Birmingham. It was soon to become our challenge.

Before - the building was uninspiring and nondescript

The school was in an unusual location that made it easy to miss, with many local residents not even aware of its presence.

When we were asked to help we knew that a traditional school sign approach wouldn’t cut the mustard. Our solution included a bold but understated transformation of the main four-storey block that could transform the school into a new local landmark.

The school recognised the potential of the design immediately and their appetite to take a risk with such a bold change to the appearance of the school building made all the difference to the success of the project.

The project was conceived, designed, manufactured and installed within a short timeframe so that it could be ready for the start of term and everything went without a hitch. Even the weather played along and while our installation team were skyward in a cherry picker they enjoyed blue sky and clear views.
