Creating Wonder at St Edmunds Catholic Academy

With school out for the summer, we are working like the clappers designing and installing dozens of projects. This is one that we’re proud of, and it has made a huge difference to the corridors of St Edmunds Catholic Academy.

The brief was to create a cohesive suite of designs that could be adapted to include additional content. To keep costs as low as possible and still allow for plenty of customisation we designed most areas using our Blueprint Wonderwalls, introducing flat-cut graphics to highlight important figures within each specialism. The brief also required going big on the school brand colour as another unifying theme. Below: Science and Maths corridors.

In the RE stairwell, we installed a series of graphic wallboards showcasing major religions and relative facts and attributes on one wall, whilst the other two walls took a deeper look at the Christian faith and Catholic sacraments. A gorgeous illustrated stained glass window was designed to bathe the space in blue light and create additional interest.

Blueprint Wonderwalls were also carried through the stairwell of the English department, once again highlighting key figures through flat-cut graphics. At the top of the stairs, we installed a run of giant book spines to ensure that there is no doubt about where you are!

We used our Tuffwall wallpaper to complete the installation, which offers an exceptional finish and is extremely durable. Understandably the headteacher told us that she will wait to see exactly how durable before she considers ordering more graphics. We’re quietly confident that we will be back…
